As part of our Electricity topic Year 5 built simple circuits from bulbs, wires and batteries.
Pupils attempted to light the bulb by attaching it to the battery using wires.
We also experimented with adding switches and buzzers to the circuit to see what would happen.
During our topic we also found out that some materials will let electricity to pass though them while other materials will not. We learnt that a material that does allow electricity to pass though it is called a conductor. We decided to test different objects from around the class to see which materials would let electricity pass though it and allow the bulb to light up.
