Shaduf Building

18th Mar 2022

As part of our Ancient Egyptian topic we have been learning about how farmers grew their crops. We found out that it didn’t rain very often in Egypt so they needed to get water from the River Nile to water their plants. To help them they built shadufs which they used to get water out of the river.
We designed and built our own shadufs and tested them to see if they could collect water from a water source. It was a great project to help us learn about the properties of materials and how to test our designs and then make improvements to them.
We had lots of fun and learnt a lot about how the Egyptians lived and worked.
